Product Description

Yankee Doodle Lilac is an upright deciduous shrub with a rounded habit and blue green foliage.  Large panicles of fragrant deep purple flowers bloom from mid spring into summer.  Best flowering with full sun and rich, moist well-drained neutral soils.  

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:  Low Maintenance.  Potential diseases include disease problems including blights, leaf spots, wilts, ringspot virus, and honey fungus.  Powdery mildew does not damage the plant but can seriously affect foliage appearance. Potential pests include scales, borers, leaf miners, thrips, and caterpillars.

LANDSCAPE USES:  Accents or Group Plantings, Borders, Woodland Gardens, Groundcover, Foundational Plantings, Hedges, and Containers.

COMPANION PLANTS:  Giant Hyssop, New Jersey Tea, Joe-Pye Weed
