Product Description

The Heuchera plant (aka Coral Bells) is a popular perennial because of its versatility. It will do great in a shady location in your garden, but it will also grow well in full sun.  It is also one of the easiest perennials to grow.  The foliage comes in so many great colors. Coral Bells will produce amazing waves of colorful leaves spring through fall and blooms usually start in late spring and can sometimes last into the summer with proper care and dead heading.  After it blooms you will enjoy its unique foliage. We are also starting to use this plant as an amazing accent plant in outdoor patio planters. If you have never tried to grow one, this is your time. They are extremely easy to grow.  They can grow to 12-16 inches high.  They are also extremely drought tolerant.

Growing Conditions:

How To Plant Place in a shade to full sun area of your garden.

Spacing Plant them 1-2 feet apart. This space will give them room to mature into a beautiful plant.

Soil Condtions The key to success is to plant them in well-drained soil that is rich in organic matter however they can pretty much grow in poor crappy soil. We recommend using Bumper Crop Soil Conditioner to make the soil perfect for success.

Fertilize Feed them with Espoma Plant Tone organic granular fertilizer.

Watering Coral Bells will prefer moist soil but don’t overwater them, especially when in a shady area. They can handle drought conditions very well but in extreme heat water them regularly.

Pruning Clean and prune out dead and drying leaves and dead head spent flowers to promote a longer blooming time

When planting in a container follow these instructions:

-Select a sturdy container 1-2 times larger than the pot it came in if you are using it as a stand-alone plant. If you are using it as an accent use it to add symmetry to your creation. You can use any good planter made of ceramic, terracotta, plastic or wood. Make sure your planter has drainage holes.

-Use quality potting soil like Bumper Crop Gardners Gold potting soil.

-Place the Heuchera on the edge of your combo planter with the crown of the roots just above the soil line.

-Add water slowly and saturate the soil just after transplanting

-Place in shade or sun location on your deck or patio.
