Product Description

Grape Expectations Coral Bells is an evergreen herbaceous perennial with a mounding habit of basal foliage.  The broad round-lobed leaves are grape purple with black veins that earn a silver sheen in the heat of summer before returning to dark purple in fall.  Airy clusters of tiny pinkish-white bell-like flowers bloom in midsummer attracting butterflies.  Best bloom in partial sun and moist well-drained soils.  

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low maintenance.  Potential issues include powdery mildew, rust, leaf spot, and frost heaving of roots if winter temperatures fluctuate widely.  Will grow slowly in heavy shade.

LANDSCAPE USES:  Accents or Group Plantings, Borders, Woodland Gardens, Naturalized Areas, Native Gardens, Rock Gardens, and Containers.
