Product Description

Black Sea Coral Bells is a tidy compact evergreen herbaceous perennial with textured near-black round lobed foliage that has a gloss in bright light.  Tiny creamy white bell-like flowers bloom on spikes in summer into fall attracting butterflies.  Best bloom in partial sun and moist well-drained soils.  Heat and humidity tolerant.  Black Sea has better vigor than other ‘black’ heuchera.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low maintenance.  Potential issues include powdery mildew, rust, leaf spot, and frost heaving of roots if winter temperatures fluctuate widely.  Will grow slowly in heavy shade.

LANDSCAPE USES:  Accents or Group Plantings, Borders, Woodland Gardens, Naturalized Areas, Native Gardens, Rock Gardens, and Containers.

COMPANION PLANTS: Painted Fern, Hosta, Astilbe
