Amur Privet is a large fast-growing evergreen shrub with an upright habit and ovate foliage often used as hedges. Produces small fragrant white flower clusters in late spring followed by black drupes. Grows best in full sun and well-drained soil. Tolerates drought and urban conditions. Note: Flowers may have an unpleasant aroma; its also self-seeding and will form thickets if not controlled.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Medium Maintenance. Water Regularly. Can be pruned in spring before flowering, and 1-2 times after flowering to encourage dense branching. usceptible to a large number of potential disease problems, including anthracnose, crown gall, twig blight, leaf spots, powdery mildew, cankers and root rots. Aphids, leaf miners, scale, thrips, mealybugs, whitefly, nematodes, Japanese beetles, weevils and mites may appear.
